stretch the hose yonder to the garden, douse the soil under the ripe tomatoes and myrtle trees
early in the morning, set its rusted mouth just under the leaves, dewed with water
braided buns and hands on scripture, opened hymnals and holy spirit sermons
old rugged cross, on and off the pew, flood and dunk baptism, renewed with water
